Rachel Alice – A Heart That Took Action

A Heart That Took Action
When Rachel Alice first learned about the living conditions of the girls at Great Hope Children’s Home sharing a small clay house with just five bunk beds she was deeply moved. The image of those young girls trying to thrive in such limited space stirred something in her heart, and she knew she couldn’t look away.

Rachel, a dedicated member of the Royal British Military Police, didn’t just sympathize she took action.

She launched a fundraiser on Facebook, rallying support from friends, fellow soldiers, and kind-hearted strangers. Her campaign spread quickly, and through the generosity of many and the power of community, she raised enough funds to build a proper living space for the girls.

Together with her fellow soldiers, Rachel helped turn that dream into reality. Today, the girls no longer sleep in a crowded clay house they live in a safer, cleaner, and more dignified environment where they can rest, grow, and dream.

Rachel’s compassion and leadership remind us that one person truly can make a difference. Her actions created lasting change, and her name lives on in our home not just in the building she helped fund, but in the heart of one of our girls, named Alice in her honor.
