Dorcas and Alice

Dorcas and Alice came to us under difficult and uncertain circumstances. They were brought and left at our home with no known family to care for them. At the time, they had no names we could confirm so we gave them English names to honor their new beginning.

Alice was named after Rachel Alice, the kind-hearted woman who helped raise funds for their accommodation, making a lasting impact on their lives. Over time, both girls have not only embraced their new home but have also learned the local language and adapted with grace and joy.

Later, we discovered a heartbreaking truth their mother suffers from mental illness and is often seen wandering the streets unclothed, unable to care for her children. Knowing this, we had every reason to welcome Dorcas and Alice into our family and give them the stability and love they desperately needed.

Today, Alice is thriving in Grade 5, bright and full of potential. Dorcas, her gentle younger sister, is now in Grade 2, learning and growing every day.

Their story is one of hope, resilience, and new beginnings and we’re grateful to walk alongside them on this journey.
